We're very big on privacy here at Fnews and NomadNet, Inc. Even aside from the obvious dangers of giving away the activities of shadowy cabals, we strongly believe that privacy is a vital right and a public good and want to protect yours to the best of our ability.
To that end, Fnews will collect only the absolute minimum set of personal information necessary. At this point, the only personal information we require to be provided is an email address, which is needed to allow you to reset your password if it should be lost and to provide a way to contact you should you request it or in the event of changes to this privacy policy.
In addition to information you enter into the site yourself, the nature of internet communication protocols is such that additional connection information, such as your IP address and browser software, will be automatically logged each time you view a page. However, we do not store any information tying these connection details to the account which is using that connection.
Personal information entered into public areas of the site will naturally be public and we cannot be responsible for its handling in such a case. Similarly, if personal information is sent in a private message to another user, we cannot be responsible for what that user does with it.
Information collected about you, whether required or voluntary, will never be knowingly revealed to any outside party unless required by law. We will not share your personal information with marketing partners or other carefully-selected businesses who wish to purchase information regarding our users.
In the event that this privacy policy is changed to allow your personal information to be distributed, all users will be emailed notification of these changes at their registered email addresses and given reasonable time to purge their personal information from our database before it is distributed. We do not reserve the right to change this privacy policy at any time without notice.
Use of Fnews as a registered user requires that you accept a login cookie from the site so that it may identify you as logged in and determine which logged-in user you are. These cookies are completely random and are deleted after you log out or your login session expires. You may view public information on the site freely as a guest (i.e., while not logged in) and no cookies will be set by Fnews until and unless you log in.
Unfortunately, we have no control over the use of tracking or other cookies by our advertisers. While we are careful to only select reputable advertisers who can be reasonably believed to respect your privacy, you may desire stronger protections against their tracking. If this is the case, you may wish to determine whether your browser supports blocking of "third-party" cookies; this setting would block cookies from advertisers while allowing the Fnews cookies required to maintain a login session. You may also be able to find ad- or script-blocking software to use with your browser which will allow control over which sites are or are not allowed to set cookies in your browser.
